The mineral cassiterite beneficiation from the primary tin ore in the Belitung mine was studied using a combined gravity and magnetic separations process. Some of the major mineral processing techniques used in concentrating minerals from lowgrade ore to highgrade concentrate are magnetic, gravity, and froth flotation, and their principles
BENEFICIATION SGS MINERALS SERVICES’ EXPERTISE WITH BENEFICIATION Beneficiation is the process where ore is reduced in size and gange separated from the ore. Since all iron ore deposits have unique mineralogy, the beneficiation process is specific to each deposit. Separation of certain minerals can be efficiently
Broadly, SRU technologies can be subdivided into the three key stages of the mineral processing flowsheet (Fig. 1). The SRU community has focused historically on excavation and extraction (Rasera et al., ). The critical linking stage of beneficiation, however, has received less research attention in comparison (Rasera et al., ).
Analysis of the current technical solutions for the processing of iron ores showed that the highgrade ores are directly exposed to metallurgical processing; by comparison, lowgrade ores, depending on the mineralogical and material composition, are directed to beneficiation including gravitational, magnetic, and flotation processes or their

According to the results a flowsheet was developed. From the developed flowsheet, it is possible to obtain pellet grade concentrate with 65.41% Fe, 2.54% SiO2, 2.79% MgO, 0.70% CaO and 0.32% Al2O3. with 21.42% weight recovery. The overall gangue rejection recovery of the circuit is over 95%.

11 Beneficiation flowsheet for tin ore collected from Uljin deposit, South Korea. 8. Conclusions. The beneficiation of cassiterite is an ageold technique that has undergone many changes over time. The commercial demand for tin fluctuates with respect to its area of applications. During the 1950s, demand for metal was mainly from the tin
A modified reverse flotation process, shown in Fig. 2.2, was proposed to upgrade the rare earth from 3 to 7 % to 60 % rare earth oxide (REO) and barite from 25 to 92–95 %. Overall, rare earth recovery is 77–84 % and barite recovery is 61–68 %. Fig. 2.2. Easter China WS rare earth reverse flotation process.
The cassiterite concentrate produced from the beneficiation process is expected to be used as feed for the smelting process. Beneficiation results of primary tin ore (oxide and skarn samples) showed that cassiterite (SnO 2) content were 15.09% and 40.03%, respectively and the recovery was 42.9% and 11.87%, respectively. The
