If you have a lot of off axis operations that you want to also mill in a lathe this presents a challenge, you will then need a 4th axis of motion.

Most of it was done on my 1930s Faircut lathe using my Tom Senior vertical slide. It would have been MUCH easier just to buy a short length of dovetail bar but in a fit of misguided enthusiasm last year I bought some 5/8 by 1 3/4 aluminium to make my own and then spent months agonizing over how to actually do the job.
